MENTAL HEALTH

LIVING WITH MENTAL HEALTH

Disclaimer - (Some things I mention in this post are personal)

I often found it hard to sleep, and there were a few distressing thoughts that were floating in my mind, I know what it feels like a struggle with mental health conditions. ( I am not really going into depth with exactly what I have but) It has been plaguing my life for a long time since my younger years. Those years have been very difficult for me, day in and day out I have been battling with it, I struggled with it during my teen years while I went to high school, which was absolute hell for me. Even in the current day, it's hard. More than 50% are diagnosed with some type of mental illness, and 1 in 5 Americans will experience mental illness in a given year.

I live quietly with mental illness. coping is not always easy, this is not something I openly share but a few things I found that help is journaling, tracking your life and your mood. if you have iOS https://www.mindpad.io/ is a great app, or if you have android https://daylio.net/ or you can use an old fashion pen and paper. Another helpful tip is to practice self-care, like reading a good book or trying a new activity.

Some may need to see a mental health provider, this is something that can really be a benefit. BetterHelp is a great online therapy service, 7 cups is another great one. I found this to be the most helpful among the others I mentioned. sometimes it helps to tell another person what you are going through, with the help of a professional you can get some insight on ways to make things better for you. There are many different therapies that are available, like Psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapies, Behavior therapy, Cognitive therapy, Humanistic therapy and Integrative or holistic therapy. This is something to look into.

I hope that the information I provided in this post was anywhere near helpful to you. If you are dealing with any kind of mental illness, I would like you to know you are not alone, help is available. Making little steps in that direction can make a big impact.

if you are struggling in any way please do seek help. A number to call is the National hotline (800)-662-4357 or TEXT 988 another number to call is the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (800)-273-8255.
